Taxon:
Chloris polydactyla Sw.
Summary
Place of publication:
Prodr. 26. 1788
Comment:
- an illegitimate, superfluous name (Shenzhen ICN 52) originally based on Andropogon polydactylon L., nom. superfl.
- Swartz should have transferred A. barbata L. (1759), upon which A. polydactylon is based, for this taxon
- since Swartz is the "original author" of this name, as it has no basionym, his use of a Latin termination is not correctable under Shenzhen ICN 23.5
