Taxon:
Terminalia elliptica Willd.
Summary
Place of publication:
Sp. pl. 4(2):969. 1806
Comment:
- a rejected (nom. rej.), heterotypic synonym (Shenzhen ICN 14.4 & App. IV) of Pentaptera arjuna Roxb. ex DC., nom. cons., but potentially available for use if the two are treated as separate species (Shenzhen ICN 14.6)
- its type is believed to belong to Terminalia arjuna, not to the species elsewhere known as T. alata Roth, a name which should perhaps now be accepted
