Place of publication:
Monogr. Anonac. 96, 104. 1817 Aug-Nov (A. P. de Candolle, Syst. nat. 1:489. 1817 Nov 1-15)
Comment:
Under the genus Unona on p. 485 Candolle cites p. 94 of the Monogr. Anonac. of Dunal, which he has obviously seen. On p. 104 of Dunal's monograph (http://bibdigital.rjb.csic.es/ing/Libro.php?Libro=5853) the name Unona ovata appears with a diagnosis only somewhat similar to that of Candolle's, the citation of "Unona ovata. Vahl. in herb. Juss. DC. Syst. univ. ined." [although Candolle had cited this as "Uvaria ovata. Vahl! ined."], a description ascribed to "DC. Syst. univ. ined.", and a comment about a specimen of Afzelius from Sierra Leone [segregated as a variety by Candolle] that is attributed to "DC. l.c." TL-2 gives the date of publication of Dunal's work as Aug-Nov of 1817, suggesting some overlap in the suspected time of the two publications, but the references in one to the other suggest that Dunal's came first.
