Bentham (in Scroph. Ind. 25. 1835 and in Wallich, Numer. List 137. 1831) appears to have been the first to correct Blume's spelling, and this correction has been universally adopted
although many authors cite
Hottonia sessiliflora
Vahl as a basionym, no connection can be made between Blume's and Vahl's names
