Note:
this study evaluated 21 taxa of
Daucus
for male sterility, observing floral development under greenhouse conditions and performing manual crosses, in order to develop new cytoplasmic male sterility sources; this study also focused in clarifying the nature of the sterility: genic or cytoplasmic through expecting segregation patterns (cytoplasmic-non-segregating, genic-segregating); this study showed that all 22 samples of
D. involucratus
were male fertile (no further studies were reported)
