Taxon:
Canavalia obtusifolia DC.
Summary
Place of publication:
Prodr. 2:404. 1825
Comment:
- originally based on Dolichos obtusifolius Lam., an illegitimate, superfluous name (Shenzhen ICN 52) for Dolichos maritimus Aubl., so there is no parenthetical authorship (Shenzhen ICN 58)
- although Candolle (1825) could not adopt Aublet's epithet in Canavalia because of C. maritima Thouars (1813), he also cited D. rotundifolius Vahl, which epithet ought to have been adopted, so C. obtusifolia DC. is also an illegitimate, superfluous name
